Basketball team on target as they win schools tournament

A group of our Year 7 students took the trip to University Academy Holbeach to compete in the North and South Holland District Basketball competition where they played matches against other local schools.
It was an excellent tournament for our students as Spalding Academy were the competition winners as we demonstrated impressive dribbling, shooting and passing skills.
The 3×3 tournament is played three-a-side with two hoops and gives Year 7 students experience of playing basketball fixtures before making the transition to 5×5 basketball games in Year 8.
Throughout the competition, the team displayed exceptional teamwork and sportsmanship and delivered outstanding performances in every game. Their dedication in training paid off as the team worked together as cohesive unit, which was evident with their strategic gameplay and defensive coordination.
Mr Favell, Teacher of PE said “We are incredibly proud of our Year 7 basketball team and look forward to their continued development both as athletes and as exemplary representatives of our school community. Their success is an inspiration to their fellow students and highlights the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and mutual support in achieving excellence.”
